Exploring the Value of Total Thyroidectomy in the Surgical Treatment of Thyroid Cancer
Objective To analyze the application value of total thyroidectomy in the surgical treatment of thyroid can-cer.Methods 120 thyroid cancer patients admitted to Hunan Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were prospective randomly selected as study subjects.According to the different surgical treatment programs,they were divided into the control group(subtotal thyroidectomy)and the observation group(total thyroidectomy),60 cases each.The application effects of two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of treatment of the ob-servation group(96.67% )was higher than that of the control group(83.33% ),and the recurrence rate(0)was lower than that of the control group(8.00% ),and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=5.926,4.138,both P<0.05).The total complication rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statisti-cally significant(P<0.05).The operation time and hospitalization time of the observation group were shorter than that of the control group,and intraoperative bleeding was less than that of the control group,and the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05).Thyroid function improved significantly in both groups 1 week after surgery compared with the preoperative period,but there was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Surgery is the main means of treatment for thyroid cancer,subtotal thyroidectomy and total thyroidec-tomy can improve thyroid function,but total resection has better surgical indexes,fewer complications,and lower recur-rence rate.
