Effect of Immunotherapy Combined with Chemotherapy on Postoperative Immune Function and Survival of Patients with Breast Cancer
Objective To investigate the effect of immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy on postoperative im-mune function and survival of patients with breast cancer. Methods A total of 96 patients with breast cancer who un-derwent surgery in Donghai County People's Hospital from January 2019 to August 2023 were conveniently selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to random number table method, with 48 patients in each group. The control group received postoperative chemotherapy, and the study group received postoperative chemo-therapy combined with immunotherapy.Serum tumor markers,cancer-related fatigue score, quality of life score and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the levels of carcino-embryonic antigen and carbohydrate antigen 153 in the study group were(4.32±0.81)ng/mL and(11.34±2.56)U/mL,respectively,which were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=11.002,5.981,both P<0.05).The score of cancer fatigue in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The quality of life score of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions(nausea and vomiting, myelosuppression, leukopenia and platelet de-cline)between the two groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion Chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy after surgery can effectively control tumor progression, reduce cancer-related fatigue symptoms, and help improve the quality of life of breast cancer patients, with no increase in adverse reactions and safety.
