Effect of Lingnan Fire Needle on the Treatment of Cervical Spondylopathy of Nerve Root Type
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Lingnan fire needle on cervical spondylopathy of nerve root type.Methods A total of 80 patients with cervical radiculopathy treated in Anshun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to January 2024 were randomly selected as the study objects and divided into two groups by random number table method,with 40 cases in each group.The conventional group was treated with conventional acupuncture,and the fire needle group was treated with Lingnan fire acupuncture on the basis of the conventional group for 14 days.The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,Present Pain Intensity(PPI)and Clinical Assess-ment Scale for Cervical Function(CASCS)scores of the two groups were compared before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the scores of limb numbness,neck and shoulder pain and dizziness in the fire needle group were lower than those in the conventional group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The PPI score of the fire needle group was(1.64±0.53)points,which was lower than that of the conventional group(2.39±0.76)points,and the difference was statistically significant(t=5.119,P<0.05).The scores and total scores of CASCS in the fire needle group were higher than those in the conventional group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Lingnan fire needle therapy can relieve symptoms and effectively reduce pain intensity in patients with cer-vical spondylopathy,which has positive significance for the recovery of cervical spine function.
