A Comparative Study of Buspirone and Venlafaxine in the Treatment of Patients with Tension-type Headache with Anxiety
Objective To explore the clinical value of buspirone and venlafaxine in treating patients with tension-type headache(TTH)with anxiety. Methods Eighty-four patients with TTH and anxiety admitted to Guizhou Second People's Hospital from October 2022 to September 2023 were conveniently selected as the study subjects, and 42 cases each were grouped by the envelope method. The control group was treated with buspirone and the observation group was treated with venlafaxine. The two groups were compared in terms of headache(including the number of at-tacks and pain level),negative emotions, sleep quality, and adverse reactions. Results The number of headache attack days per month in the observation group was(9.64±2.87)d,which was less than(11.60±4.07)d in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.551,P=0.013).Anxiety,depression,and Pittsburgh Sleep Index Scale scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the headache level scores and the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion In patients with TTH with anxiety, venlafaxine and buspirone were able to significantly reduce the degree of headache in patients, and the safety of the medication was good, but the former had certain advantages in improving anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, and reducing head-ache attacks.
