Analysis of the Clinical Effect of Estradiol Gel Combined with Misoprostol in Postmenopausal Women Undergoing IUD Extraction
Objective To study the clinical effect of estradiol gel combined with misoprostol in postmenopausal women undergoing intra-uterine device(IUD)extraction. Methods One hundred cases of postmenopausal women who under-went IUD in Nanping Jianyang District Maternal and Child Health Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were ran-domly selected as study subjects, and were divided into two groups according to the treatment plan, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with misoprostol before IUD extraction, and the observation group was pre-treated with estradiol gel+misoprostol. The cervical softening effect, surgical success rate, surgical related indexes and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The cervical softening rate and surgical success rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The time of IUD removal and the pain score during IUD removal were better in the observation group than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The difference in intraoperative bleeding between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(2.00%vs 6.00%)(x2=0.260,P=0.609).Conclusion The combination of estradiol gel and misoprostol for the pretreatment of IUD extrac-tion in postmenopausal women can significantly improve the effect of cervical softening, reduce the time of IUD extrac-tion,improve the success rate of the procedure, reduce the pain condition of the patients during the IUD extraction, and have a high degree of safety.
