Clinical Efficacy of Flap-guided Eruption Surgery Combined with Ortho-dontics in the Treatment of Maxillary Buried Obstructed Anterior Teeth in Children and Adolescents
Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of children and adolescents with maxillary buried obstructed anterior teeth who underwent flap guided eruption combined with orthodontics. Methods A total of 23 cases of chil-dren with maxillary buried obstructed anterior teeth treated in Wuwei Liangzhou Hospital from September 2018 to De-cember 2022 were conveniently selected as the study objects, and were divided into the control group(35 cases)and the observation group(38 cases)by application of the touch-ball method. The control group was treated with single flap-guided eruption surgery, and the observation group was treated with flap-guided eruption surgery combined with orthodontic treatment. The success rate of surgery, eruption time of maxillary ambulatory anterior teeth, complication rate, and speech, chewing function, and esthetic degree of the children before and after treatment were compared in the two groups. Results The surgical success rate of children in the observation group was 97.37%,which was higher than 82.86%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.425,P<0.05).The eruption time of the maxillary buried blocked anterior teeth in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The complication rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of speech function,masti-cation function and aesthetics of the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and the aes-thetics score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).However,the scores of speech function and mastication function of the two groups after treat-ment,the differences were not statistically significant(both P>0.05).Conclusion Orthodontic treatment in conjunction with flap-guided eruption treatment in children and adolescents with maxillary buried obstructed anterior teeth can greatly improve the success rate of the surgery, shorten the eruption time the of maxillary buried obstructed anterior teeth, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve the aesthetics of the children's teeth.
