Improvement of Lumbar Pain Symptoms and Lumbar Function in Pa-tients with Lumbar Disc Herniation by Acupuncture and Massage Therapy
Objective To study the effect of acupuncture and massage therapy on the improvement of lumbar pain symptoms and lumbar function in patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods A total of 80 LDH patients ad-mitted to Changle District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Fuzhou City from January to December 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to random number table method,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with acupuncture alone,and the observation group was treated with massage based on the control group.The curative effect,the degree of low back pain symptoms,the de-gree of lumbar dysfunction and the degree of motion were compared between the two groups.Results The total effec-tive rate of treatment observation group(97.50%)was higher than that of control group(80.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.507,P<0.05).The score of pain assessment table in observation group was lower than that in control group,and the score of lumbar dysfunction degree was higher than that in control group,the differ-ences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Lumbar flexion and extension,lateral flexion and rotation in observa-tion group were higher than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Con-clusion The clinical treatment effect of acupuncture and massage therapy for LDH patients is accurate,which can more effectively relieve the symptoms of low back pain and lumbar dysfunction of patients,and accelerate the recovery of lumbar function.
