Clinical Efficacy of PKP and PVP in the Treatment of Osteoporotic Verte-bral Compression Fractures
Objective To compare and analyze the results of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)and percutaneous verte-bro plasty(PVP)for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCFs).Methods A total of eighty patients with OVCFs admitted to Shantou Second People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were randomly selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into groups according to their surgical methods(PVP patients in the study group and PKP patients in the control group),with forty patients in each group.Operation time,Cobb angle,an-terior vertebra height,Oswestry disability index score(ODI)and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the study group was shorter than that of the control group, and the differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with before surgery, the Cobb angle decreased significantly and the anterior edge height increased significantly in the two groups after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05),there were no significant differences in comparison between groups(all P>0.05).After opera-tion,the ODI score of the two groups was significantly lower than that before operation, and the difference was statisti-cally significant(both P<0.05),there was no significant difference in comparison between groups(P>0.05).The inci-dence of postoperative complications in the study group was 27.50%higher than that in the control group(10.00%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In OVCFs patients, both PKP and PVP can achieve ideal therapeutic effects, among which the former has a lower incidence of postoperative complications, while the latter is relatively simple to operate and has lower cost.In practical application, appropriate therapeutic methods should be selected according to the needs and conditions of patients.
