Effect of Midazolam and Diazepam on Cortisol in Patients Undergoing Epi-dural Anesthesia
Objective To investigate the anesthetic effect of midazolam and diazepam on epidural anesthesia and the influence of midazolam and diazepam on cortisol. Methods A total of 106 patients who underwent epidural anesthesia in Shanxian County Central Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were conveniently selected as the research objects.According to different anesthetic drugs, the patients were divided into study group(midazolam)and control group(diazepam),with 53 cases in each group. The incidence of adverse reactions, anesthesia recovery index,cogni-tive function index and vital signs were compared between the two groups. Results The total incidence of adverse reac-tions in the study group(1.88%)was lower than that in the control group(15.09%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.371,P=0.037).The anesthesia onset time(0.58±0.23)min,spontaneous breathing time(3.24±0.18)min,consciousness recovery time(180.12±10.25)min,and tracheal extubation time(20.12±2.65)min in the study group were shorter than those in the control group(0.74±0.51)min,(4.21±0.21)min,(189.62±10.18)min,(25.23±2.34)min,the differences were statistically significant(t=2.082,25.531,4.787,10.522,all P<0.05).The cognitive function index, blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation index of the study group were better than those of the con-trol group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Midazolam anesthesia has better sedative auxiliary effect, can reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and faster recovery from postoperative anesthe-sia,can reduce the impact on patients'cognitive function, can stabilize anesthesia indicators and reduce the impact on patients'blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation, and can be widely used for the smooth implementation of auxiliary sur-gery.
