Discussion on the Effectiveness and Safety of Improved Partial Resection of Nail Plate and Onychostroma in the Treatment of ingrown Toenail Paro-nychia
Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of improved partial vesection of nail plate and Ony-chostroma for the treatment of ingrown toenail paronychia. Methods A total of 76 patients with ingrown toenail paro-nychia admitted to the Department of Hand and Foot Surgery of the Jining Third People's Hospital from February 2021 to November 2022 were conveniently selected as the study objects. They were divided into two groups according to dif-ferent surgical methods, with 38 cases in each group. The control group received partial or total nail removal surgery, and the intervention group received partial resection of nail plate and onychostroma. The recovery rate, postoperative dressing change, wound healing time, postoperative adverse reaction rate, and pain score were compared between the two groups. Results The recovery rate of intervention group was 97.37%,higher than 78.95%of control group, the dif-ference was statistically significant(χ2=6.176,P<0.05).The first dressing change time in the intervention group was longer than that in the control group, the average dressing change times were less than that in the control group, the postoperative wound healing time was shorter than that in the control group, and the score of resting pain and walking pain were lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The modified decking and nail matrix partial excision is effective in the treatment of onychoparonychia, which can pro-mote the recovery of the disease, improve the clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients.
