Study on the Therapeutic Effect of Nasal High Flow Oxygen Therapy in Patients with Acute Dyspnea and Hypoxemia in Emergency Department
Objective To analyze the effect of nasal high flow oxygen therapy in emergency patients with acute respira-tory distress and hypoxemia. Methods A total of 91 patients with acute dyspnea and hypoxemia admitted to Xinyi People's Hospital from October 2022 to December 2023 were conveniently selected as the research objects and di-vided into study group(n=45)and control group(n=46)by random number table method. The control group was treated with routine oxygen therapy, and the study group was treated with nasal high flow oxygen therapy. Both groups were treated for 1 h.The physiological indexes(heart rate, respiratory rate, mean arterial pressure),blood gas indexes(arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide, blood oxygen saturation)and prognostic indexes(intubation rate)were com-pared between the two groups. Results Before and after treatment, there was no significant difference in the level of physiological indexes between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of physiological indexes in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in blood gas indexes between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the study group was(38.71±3.21)mmHg,and the blood oxygen satura-tion was(91.47±6.27)%,which were better than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(t=5.708,2.709,both P<0.05).The intubation rate of the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Nasal high-flow oxygen therapy for patients with acute dyspnea and hypoxemia can improve the blood gas index level and help to reduce the intubation rate, thereby reducing the body injury of patients.
