Effect of Quality Nursing on the Development and Complications of Pre-mature Infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Objective To evaluate the effects of quality care in neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)preterm infants and its impact on complication rates. Methods Forty-six cases of preterm infants admitted to the NICU of Dongchangfu District Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Liaocheng from January to December 2023 were conve-niently selected for the study, and were divided into a control group(23 cases, routine care)and an observation group(23 cases, quality care)according to the random number table method.Physical development,Neonatal Behavioral Neurological Assessment(NBNA)scores, milk intake and complications were compared between the two groups.Re-sults Before nursing care, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of physical development,NBNA score, and milk intake(all P>0.05);after nursing care, the observation group's length, weight, head circumference,NBNA score, and milk intake were better than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total complication rate of the observation group(17.39%)was lower than that of the control group(0),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.381,P<0.05).Conclusion Quality nursing for NICU premature infants can increase milk intake, reduce the incidence of complications, and promote physical and neurobehavioral development, which has clinical significance.
