Objective To analyze the nursing effect of nursing intervention based on Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills Model(IMB)for patients with chronic schizophrenia. Methods A total of 100 patients with chronic schizophrenia who were treated in Nanjing You'an Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were randomly se-lected as the study objects.Four homogeneous psychiatric wards were numbered, and one male ward and one female ward were randomly selected by coin toss as observation group and the other two as control group, with 50 cases each. The control group received routine health education, and the observation group received nursing intervention based on IMB model.Self-management ability and quality of life scores after nursing intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The self-management ability score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of psychosocial score(20.09±4.16)points,energy/motivation score(19.54±3.96)points and energy/symptom score(22.16±5.13)points in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=4.470,7.093,5.172,all P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on IMB model can improve patients'self-management ability and quality of life.
