Evaluation of the Advantages of Using Cervical Dilation Balloons for Cer-vical Maturation and Induction of Labor in Late Pregnancy Women
Objective To evaluate the advantages of cervical dilatation balloon in cervical ripening and production of women in late pregnancy.Methods From December 2022 to December 2023,62 pregnant women in the third trimes-ter of pregnancy were conveniently selected from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Wuhan Zhen'ai Ob-stetrics and Gynecology Hospital.They were into control group and study group by random number table method,with 31 cases in each group.The patients in the control group were treated with oxytocin production,and the patients in the study group were treated with cervical dilatation balloon production on this basis.The cervical ripening and produc-tion of the two groups were compared.Results The effective rate of cervical ripening in the study group(96.77%)was higher than that in the control group(80.65%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The first stage of labor time(7.23±1.67)h,the second stage of labor time(0.56±0.18)h and the total labor time(8.49±1.35)h in the study group were shorter than those in the control group,and the amount of postpartum hemorrhage(210.85±34.41)mL was less than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P＜0.05).The total inci-dence of maternal and infant adverse outcomes in the study group was lower than that in the control group,and the dif-ference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of complica-tions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The application of cervical dilatation balloon in late pregnancy can promote cervical ripening,increase vaginal delivery rate,and improve maternal and infant outcomes.
