Evaluation of the Effect of Continuing Nursing to Reduce Postoperative Complications in Elderly Cataract Surgery Patients
Objective To explore the effect of continuous nursing on reducing postoperative complications in elderly patients with cataract surgery. Methods A total of 96 elderly patients after cataract surgery admitted to Liaocheng Eye Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were prospective conveniently selected as study objects. The patients were di-vided into reference group(48 cases)and study group(48 cases)by parity grouping method. The reference group was given routine nursing guidance program, and the study group was given continuous nursing countermeasures. The rel-evant indicators before and after nursing were compared between the two groups, including self-management ability, quality of life, and nursing satisfaction scores. Results The scores of self-management ability such as disease knowl-edge and responsibility in the study group were higher than those in the reference group, the differences were statisti-cally significant(all P<0.05).The quality of life indexes such as physiological function and mental health of the pa-tients in the study group were higher than those in the reference group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total nursing satisfaction of the study group(95.83%)was higher than that of the reference group(83.33%),the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.018,P<0.05).Conclusion The intervention of continuous nursing during the nursing of elderly patients with cataract surgery can achieve significant results, which can reduce the risk of postoperative complications, promote their self-management ability and improve the quality of life of pa-tients.
