Clinical Effects of Combined Cataract Phacoemulsification,Intraocular Lens Implantation and Angle Separation in the Treatment of Angle-closure Glaucoma Versus Traditional Trabeculectomy
Objective To explore the clinical effects of combined cataract phacoemulsification, intraocular lens im-plantation and angle separation surgery in patients with angle closure glaucoma. Methods A total of 66 patients with angle-closure glaucoma treated in Shaowu Municipal Hospital from October 2020 to January 2023 were conveniently selected as the study objects, and were divided into traditional group(n=33)and comprehensive group(n=33)accord-ing to different surgical methods.Patients in the comprehensive group received cataract phacoemulsification,intraocu-lar lens implantation, and angle separation combined treatment.Patients in the traditional group received traditional trabeculectomy. The naked eye vision, intraocular pressure, anterior chamber depth level, incidence of postoperative adverse reactions, and recurrence rate of the two groups of patients were compared. Results Before operation, there was no significant difference in naked eye visual acuity, intraocular pressure and anterior chamber depth between the two groups(all P>0.05).Three months after operation, the naked eye visual acuity and anterior chamber depth in the comprehensive group were higher than those in the traditional group, and the intraocular pressure was lower than that in the traditional group, the difference were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative ad-verse reactions in the comprehensive group was 9.09%,which was lower than that in the traditional group(15.15%),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(χ2=0.569,P>0.05).The recurrence rate of the compre-hensive group was 3.03%,which was lower than that of the traditional group(18.18%),and the difference was statis-tically significant(χ2=3.995,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with traditional trabeculectomy, cataract phacoemulsifi-cation,intraocular lens implantation and angle separation can improve visual acuity, intraocular pressure and anterior chamber depth better, with better safety and lower recurrence rate.
