The Impact of Nursing Interventions Based on the Information Motivation Behavioral Skills Model on Medication Adherence in Patients with Chronic Schizophrenia
Objective To analyze the effect of nursing intervention based on information-motivation-behavioral skills(IMB)model on medication compliance of patients with chronic schizophrenia. Methods A total of 100 patients with chronic schizophrenia admitted to Nanjing Youan Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were randomly se-lected as the study objects and divided into control group and observation group by different nursing model, with 50 cases each. The control group received routine health education, and the observation group received nursing interven-tion based on IMB model. The compliance and family satisfaction with nursing were compared between the patients in two groups. Results After nursing, the scores of medication compliance rating scale were increased in both groups, and the scores of medication compliance in observation group at the end of nursing,9 months and 12 months were(8.67±1.21)points,(8.25±1.04)points and(8.14±1.06)points were higher than(6.03±1.48)points,(5.41±2.68)points and(5.29±3.14)points in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=9.765,6.986,6.081,all P<0.05).The total satisfaction of nursing 86.00%(43/50)in control group was lower than 98.00%(49/50)in observation group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.891,P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on IMB model can improve patients'attitudes and beliefs about taking medicine, improve patients'compliance behavior, and then enhance patients'families'satisfaction with nursing services.
