Application of BCW Theoretical Health Education and Protective Motiva-tion Theory Nursing in Patients with Diabetes Foot
Objective To explore the effects of the behavior change wheel(BCW)theory of health education and pro-tective motivation for diabetic foot(DF)patients.Methods A total of 80 DF patients admitted to Binzhou Central Hos-pital from June 2021 to June 2023 were randomly selected as study subjects and divided into intervention group(n=40)and control group(n=40)according to different nursing method.The control group was given routine nursing,and the intervention group was given BCW theoretical health education combined with protective motivation theoretical nursing.The medical compliance,pain degree and self-management ability of the patients in two groups were com-pared.Results The total compliance of the intervention group[97.50%(39/40)]was higher than that of the control group[80.00%(32/40)],the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.507,P<0.05).After the intervention,the pain Visual Analogue Score of both groups was decreased,and the intervention group was lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of Summary of Diabetes Self-care Activities of both groups were increased,and the intervention group was higher than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion BCW health education combined with protective motivation nursing can improve patients'compliance,relieve pain and improve their self-management ability.
