The Effect of Carbon Doxide Laser on HPV Negative Conversion Rate and Sexual Function in Women with Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Le-sions
Objective To investigate the effect of carbon dioxide(CO2)laser treatment on low grade squamous intraepi-thelial lesions(LSIL)and their effects on sexual function. Methods 85 patients with LSIL combined with human papil-lomavirus(HPV)infection admitted to the gynecology department of Taizhou Second People's Hospital from January 2021 to April 2023 were conveniently selected as the study object, and were divided into two groups according to dif-ferent treatment methods.Control group(n=40)was treated with recombinant human interferon α2b(IFN-α2b),obser-vation group(n=45)was treated with CO2 laser on the basis of control group, both groups were followed up for 6 months. The HPV infection turning negative, treatment effect and sexual function were compared between the two groups. Results The cure rate of the observation group at 3 months and 6 months after treatment was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The recurrence rate after 6 months of treatment group was 5.00%(2/40),which was lower than 21.43%(6/28)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.282,P<0.05).The negative HPV conversion rate in the observation group at 3 months and 6 months after treatment were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(both P<0.05).The HPV load of the observation group at 6 months after treatment was(1.35±0.38)copies/mL,lower than that of the control group(1.89±0.42)copies/mL,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the loss rate of sexual life and the score of the female sexual function index sur-vey scale between the two groups at 6 months after treatment(both P>0.05).Conclusion CO2 laser therapy can im-prove the therapeutic effect and negative conversion rate of HPV in female LSIL patients with HPV,and has no signifi-cant effect on the sexual function of the patients.
