Efficacy of Percutaneous Vertebroplasty Combined with Risedronate So-dium in the Treatment of Postmenopausal Osteoporotic Vertebral Com-pression Fractures
Objective To analyze the application effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty combined with risedronate so-dium in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures.Methods A total of 64 patients with postmenopausal osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures admitted to the Department of Spinal Trauma Sur-gery,Shouguang People's Hospital of Shandong Province from October 2020 to October 2021 were conveniently se-lected as the research objects.According to the different treatment methods,they were divided into comparison group and study group,with 32 cases in each group.The comparison group was treated with conservative treatment,and the study group was treated with percutaneous vertebroplasty combined with risedronate sodium.The total effective rate of treatment,kyphotic Cobb angle,vertebral height compression rate at different treatment time and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group 93.75%(30/32)was higher than 81.25%(26/32)in the comparison group,but the difference was not statistically significant(χ2=1.286,P=0.257).At 15 days and 6 months after treatment,the Cobb angle of kyphosis in the study group was smaller than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).At 15 days and 6 months af-ter treatment,the vertebral height compression rate of the study group was lower than that of the comparison group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was lower than that in the comparison group,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous vertebroplasty combined with risedronate sodium in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporotic verte-bral compression fractures is helpful to restore vertebral height,correct kyphosis in time,avoid re-fracture and the in-cidence of adverse reactions is lower.
