Analysis of the Efficacy of Conjunctival Flap Transplantation at Different Sites in the Treatment of Pterygium
Objective To investigate the efficacy of conjunctival flap transplantation at different sites during the treat-ment of pterygium. Methods A total of 68 patients with pterygium surgery admitted to the Corps from January 2023 to October 2023 were conveniently selected as the research objects. They were divided into two groups according to the different location of conjunctival flap, with 34 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with pterygium excision plus square free autologous bulbar conjunctival flap transplantation, and the control group was treated with pterygium excision plus lower free autologous bulbar conjunctival flap transplantation. The efficacy and recurrence, tear film function parameters and pain scores of the two groups were compared. Results One year after operation, there was no significant difference in efficacy and recurrence between the two groups(both P>0.05).There was no signifi-cant difference in tear film function between the two groups at 1 day before operation and 3 months after operation(both P>0.05),one month after surgery, the non-invasive tear film rupture time of the observation group was(11.92±3.28)s,the tear meniscus height was(0.25±0.11)mm,and the corneal fluorescein staining score was(2.56±0.70)points,which were better than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=2.449,2.608,2.148,all P<0.05).The was no significant differences in pain score between the two groups at different time paints(all P<0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effects of the two surgical methods are comparable, but in the early stage after pterygium surgery, compared with the lower free bulbar conjunctival flap, the upper free bulbar conjuncti-val flap transplantation is better.
