The Effect of Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine System on Preventing Recurrence of Endometrial Polyps after Hysteroscopic Surgery and its Ef-fect on Endometrial Thickness
Objective To analyze the effect of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system on preventing recurrence of endometrial polyps after hysteroscopic surgery and its effect on endometrial thickness. Methods The clinical data of 96 patients who underwent hysteroscopic surgery for endometrial polyps in Zhangzhou Yunxiao County Hospital from July 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected.According to different treatment methods, they were di-vided into control group and observation group, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with dydro-gesterone tablets after hysteroscopic surgery, and the observation group was treated with levonorgestrel-releasing intra-uterine system. The menstrual volume, menstrual cycle, endometrial thickness, estrogen level and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of menstrual blood loss and endometrial thick-ness in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the menstrual cycle was shorter than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, there was no significant difference in extrogen levels between the two groups(P>0.05).The recurrence rate of the observation group after 6 months of treatment was 2.08%(1/48),which was lower than 16.67%(8/48)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=6.008,P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of endometrial polyps, hysteroscopic sur-gery combined with levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system has certain advantages, which can reduce the recur-rence rate, control menstrual blood loss, reduce endometrial thickness, and have little effect on the estrogen level of patients.
