Evaluation of the Effect of Health Education with IMB Skill Model on Self-care Ability of Patients with Cirrhosis
Objective To analyze the effects of health education based on information-motivation-behavioral skills model(IMB)on self-care ability and complication rate of patients with cirrhosis. Methods A total of 130 patients with cirrhosis admitted to Shanxian Central Hospital from January 2022 to October 2023 were randomly selected as obser-vation objects, and were divided into a reference group(routine health education)and a research group(health educa-tion based on IMB skill model)according to different nursing methods, with 65 cases in each group.Self-care ability and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results Before intervention, there was no significant difference in self-care ability scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after intervention, the self-care ability of the re-search group was higher than that of the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of nursing in the research group was 98.46%(64/65),higher than that in the reference group 83.08%(54/65),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=9.181,P=0.002).Conclusion The implementation of health education and nursing with IMB skill model can greatly improve patients'self-care ability and improve pa-tients'nursing satisfaction.
