Study on the Effect of Arthroscopic Diversion and Transposition of the Long Head Tendon of the Biceps Brachii Muscle in the Treatment of Giant Rotator Cuff Injuries
Objective To investigate the effect of arthroscopic transposition of long head tendon of biceps brachii in the treatment of huge rotator cuff injury. Methods Thirty patients with huge rotator cuff injury admitted to Longyan First Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from January 2021 to January 2023 were simple randomly se-lected as the study objects. All of them were treated with arthroscopic diversion and transposition of the long head ten-don of the biceps and were followed up for 12 months after surgery. The patients'joint motion,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score, shoulder joint function, quality of life and complications were compared before and after treatment.Re-sults At 12 months after treatment, the patient's shoulder joint motion was better than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At 12 months after treatment, the VAS score of patients was(2.51±0.41)points,which was lower than that before treatment(6.72±0.73)points,and the difference was statistically significant(t=27.541,P<0.001).At 12 months after treatment, the pain, stability and function scores of the shoulder and elbow joint in the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons(ASES)scale were higher than before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).At 12 months after treatment, the quality of life score was higher than before treat-ment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 12 months of follow-up,no serious complications occurred in 30 patients with huge rotator cuff injury treated by arthroscopic diversion of the long head tendon of bi-ceps brachii. Conclusion Arthroscopic transposition of long head tendon of biceps brachii is effective in the treatment of huge rotator cuff injury, which can reduce pain, benefit the recovery of shoulder joint function and shoulder joint ac-tivity after operation, and has high safety.
