Azithromycin Combined with Budesonide Nebulization for Symptom Con-trol and Safety in Children with Severe Pneumonia
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of budesonide nebulization combined with azithromycin in the treatment of severe pneumonia in children. Methods A total of 110 children with severe pneumonia admitted to Sanming Second Hospital from April 2022 to March 2024 were randomly selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and study group, with 55 cases in each group. The control group was treated with azithromycin, and the study group was treated with budesonide nebulization combined with azithromycin. The time required for symptom relief and Hospitalization,inflammation-related indicators, and ad-verse reactions were evaluated in each group. Results The cough relief time(7.90±1.21)d,body temperature recovery time(5.42±1.10)d,lung rale disappearance time(10.23±2.22)d and hospitalization time(13.12±1.22)d in the study group were shorter than those in the control group(11.49±2.07)d,(7.97±2.26)d,(14.01±2.25)d,(15.32±1.27)d,the differences were statistically significant(t=11.104,7.524,8.869,9.265,all P<0.05).Before intervention, there was no significant difference in inflammation-related indicators between the two groups(P>0.05);after intervention, the lev-els of inflammation-related indicators in the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and the study group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Azithromycin combined with budesonide nebulization in the treatment of severe pneumonia in children can accelerate the speed of symptom re-lief,reduce the inflammatory response of children, and improve the safety of medication.
