Comparison of Clinical Effects Between Total Thoracoscopic Surgery and Traditional Surgery in the Treatment of Early Esophageal Cancer Patients
Objective To study the effect of total thoracoscopic surgery and traditional surgery in patients with early esophageal cancer. Methods A total of 140 patients with early esophageal cancer admitted to Hai'an People's Hospi-tal from January 2020 to December 2023 were randomly selected as the research objects.According to different surgi-cal methods, they were divided into control group(100 cases)and observation group(40 cases). The observation group was treated with total thoracoscopic surgery, and the control group was treated with traditional surgery. The follow-up prognosis, surgical related indicators, complications and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in recurrence rate, metastasis rate and mortality between the two groups(all P>0.05).The operation time(132.63±23.79)min,intraoperative blood loss(169.56±30.42)mL,drainage tube indwelling time(2.86±0.69)d and hospitalization time(11.61±3.16)d in the observation group were better than those in the con-trol group(176.45±24.36)min,(249.85±31.82)mL,(4.76±1.13)d and(14.64±2.87)d,the differences were statisti-cally significant(t=9.679,13.654,9.908,5.481,all P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation, the quality of life scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the quality of life scores of the ob-servation group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Both total thoracoscopic surgery and traditional surgery for patients with early esophageal cancer have good follow-up prognosis, but total thoracoscopic surgery has fewer complications, less intraoperative blood loss, shorter catheterization time and hospitalization time, and better quality of life.
