The Diagnostic Value of CRP,WBC,NLR and PCT on the Children of Re-spiratory Tract Infection was Analyzed
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of serum C-reactive protein(CRP),white blood cell count(WBC),neutrophil to lymphocyte count ratio(NLR)and procalcitonin(PCT)in children with respiratory tract infection. Methods The clinical data of 135 children with respiratory tract infection admitted to Guangze County Traditional Chi-nese Medicine Hospital from July 2022 to September 2023 were retrospectively selected as the infection group, and the data of 148 healthy children admitted to the hospital for physical examination during the same period were se-lected as the healthy group. The children in the above infection group were divided into bacterial infection group(89 cases)and non-bacterial infection group(46 cases)according to the results of sputum culture or throat swab. The levels of serum CRP,PCT,WBC and NLR at admission were compared among the three groups, and the diagnostic value of single and combined detection of each index was evaluated. Results On admission. The serum CRP(7.43±2.15)mg/L,WBC(11.26±3.18)×109/L,PCT(75.29±15.17)ng/L and NLR(4.02±1.22)in the bacterial infection group were higher than those in the non-bacterial infection group(5.97±1.95)mg/L,(9.37±2.47)×109/L,(66.47±19.48)ng/L,(3.25±1.06)and the healthy group(1.73±0.41)mg/L,(7.87±2.25)×109/L,(58.17±18.71)ng/L,(2.51±0.37)and the differ-ences between the three groups were statistically significant(F=458.967,46.996,39.068,88.774,all P<0.05).The AUC values of CRP,PCT,WBC,NLR and combined detection were 0.648,0.654,0.679,0.628 and 0.787,respec-tively.Conclusion The combination of serum CRP,PCT levels and WBC,NLR indicators has a higher diagnostic value than a single test, which is clinically important for diagnosing whether children with respiratory tract infections are bacterial infections.
