A Prospective Randomized Controlled Study of Modified Transurethral Plasma Kinetic Enucleation of the Prostate and Transurethral Plasma Re-section of Prostate for the Treatment of Small and Medium Volume Be-nign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Objective The therapeutic effects of modified transurethral plasma kinetic enucleation of prostate and transurethral plasma resection of prostate were compared in patients with small and medium volume prostatic hyper-plasia.Methods A total of 100 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia admitted to the Department of Urology,Sec-ond Hospital of Longyan City,Fujian Province from September 2021 to August 2023 were randomly selected as the re-search objects.According to different surgical methods,they were divided into control group(transurethral plasma re-section of prostate)and study group(modified transurethral plasma kinetic enucleation of prostate),with 50 cases in each group.The surgical indexes,international prostate symptom score,maximum urinary flow rate and complication rate were compared between the two groups.Results The operation time,bladder irrigation time,indwelling catheter time and hospitalization time of the study group were shorter than those of the control group,the intraoperative blood loss was lower than that of the control group,and the resected gland weight was higher than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Before and after operation,there was no significant difference in International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS)and maximum urinary flow rate between the two groups(all P>0.05).After operation,the IPSS score and maximum urinary flow rate of the two groups were better than those before opera-tion,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the study group was 10.00%(5/50),which was lower than 30.00%(15/50)in the control group,and the difference was statisti-cally significant(χ2=6.250,P<0.05).Conclusion Modified transurethral plasma kinetic enucleation of prostate for the treatment of small and medium-sized prostatic hyperplasia can effectively improve the symptoms and urinary flow rate of patients,shorten the recovery time of patients,reduce the incidence of complications,and have high safety.
