Comparative Study of the Efficacy of Nickel-titanium Shape Memory Al-loy Encircling Instrument Internal Fixation and Chest Shield External Fixation in the Treatment of Multiple Rib Fractures
Objective To compare the effect of nickel-titanium shape memory alloy embracing instrument internal fixation and chest shield external fixation in the treatment of multiple rib fractures.Methods A total of 80 patients with multiple rib fractures who were treated in The People's Hospital of Jimo.Qingdao from January 2021 to February 2024 were randomly selected as the study subjects.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into comparison group(40 cases)and inquiry group(40 cases).The control group was treated with external fixation of chest guard plate,while the study group was treated with internal fixation of nickel-titanium shape memory alloy embracing instrument.The surgical indexes,blood gas indexes,pain mediators and total incidence of complications were com-pared between the two groups.Results The time of getting out of bed,hospitalization time and fracture healing time in the inquiry group were better than those in the comparison group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).At 1 day after operation,the blood gas index of the inquiry group was better than that of the comparison group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).1 day after operation,the level of serum pain mediators in the inquiry group was lower than that in the comparison group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the inquiry group was 5.00%(2/40),which was lower than 20.00%(8/40)in the comparison group,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.114,P<0.05).Conclusion Com-pared with chest guard plate external fixation,nickel-titanium shape memory alloy embracing instrument internal fixa-tion can shorten the time of getting out of bed,hospitalization time and fracture healing time,improve blood gas index,reduce serum pain medium level and reduce complications.
