Objective To explore the efficacy of sacubitril valsartan combined with metoprolol in the treatment of el-derly patients with chronic heart failure.Methods A total of 110 elderly patients with chronic heart failure admitted to Tai'an City Central Hospital from January 2023 to February 2024 were randomly,selected as research objects.Accord-ing to different medication methods,they were divided into control group(55 cases,treated with metoprolol alone)and observation group(55 cases,treated with sacubitril valsartan combined with metoprolol).The cardiac function,adverse reactions,levels of heart failure markers,exercise capacity and vascular endothelial function were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the levels of cardiac function,exercise capacity,vascular endothelial function and heart failure markers in the observation group were better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 3.64%(2/55),which was slightly lower than 7.27%(4/55)in the control group,but there was no significant difference between the two groups(χ2=0.176,P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of sacubitril valsartan and metoprolol in elderly patients with chronic heart failure can improve cardiac function,increase exercise capacity,improve vascular endothelial func-tion,reduce the level of heart failure markers,and help patients recover.
