Clinical Effect of Warm Acupuncture in the Treatment of Facial Paralysis
Objective To study the application effect of warm acupuncture in patients with facial paralysis. Methods A total of 100 patients with facial paralysis treated in Wuyishan Municipal Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects and divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received ordinary acupuncture treatment, and the observation group received warm acupuncture treatment. The therapeutic effect,TCM syndrome score, facial nerve function and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.00%(48/50),which was significantly higher than that of the control group 82.00%(41/50),the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.005,P=0.025).After treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes(main and secondary syndromes)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).After treatment,in the facial disability index of the observation group, the social function score was lower than that of the control group, and the physical function score was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no significant dif-ference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Warm acupuncture and moxibustion is effective and safe in the treatment of patients with facial paralysis. It can effectively relieve the symp-toms of facial paralysis and restore the function of facial nerve.
