Analysis on the Therapeutic Effect of Percutaneous Vertebroplasty in Pa-tients with Senile Osteoporotic Thoracolumbar Compression Fractures
Objective To explore the clinical effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty on elderly patients with osteopo-rotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fracture(SOTVCF).Methods A total of 70 elderly patients with SOTVCF(thoracic 11 to lumbar 5 vertebrae)admitted to the Department of Orthopaedics,Fuzhou Changle District People's Hospital of from March 2020 to March 2023 were randomly selected as the research objects.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and study group, with 35 cases in each group. The study group was treated with percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP),and the control group was treated with traditional conserva-tive treatment. The clinical treatment efficiency,Oswestry Dysfunction Index(ODI)score and vertebral height were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 97.14%(34/35),which was higher than 74.29%(26/35)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=7.077,P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the ODI score between the two groups(P>0.05);at 3 d and 5 d after treatment, the ODI score of the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).At 1 month,3 months and 6 months after treatment, the height of the lowest point of the diseased vertebral body in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion In the clinical treatment of patients with SOTVCF(thoracic 11 to lumbar 5 vertebrae),PVP has a good therapeutic effect, which can relieve the pain symptoms of pa-tients,promote the rapid recovery of patients and maintain the height of the vertebral body of the affected vertebra.
