Analysis on the Efficacy Effect of Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection in the Treatment of Early Gastrointestinal Cancer in the Elderly and its Influ-ence on the Quality of Life of Patients
Objective To investigate the effect of endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)on the treatment of early gastrointestinal cancer in the elderly and its effect on the quality of life of patients. Methods A total of 82 elderly pa-tients with early gastrointestinal cancer admitted to Liuhe District People's Hospital of Nanjing from September 2020 to March 2024 were conveniently selected as the research objects.According to different surgical methods, they were divided into control group(n=41,treated with traditional radical surgery)and observation group(n=41,treated with ESD).The operation-related indicators, postoperative inflammatory response and complication rate were compared be-tween the two groups. Results The operation time(65.47±7.82)min,postoperative exhaust time(4.81±1.49)h,postop-erative feeding time(1.43±0.21)d and hospitalization time(5.36±1.41)d in the observation group were shorter than(112.67±12.46)min,(10.64±2.34)h,(2.57±0.33)d and(8.37±1.82)d in the control group, the intraoperative blood loss(68.94±9.34)mL was less than that of the control group(136.48±17.62)mL,and the differences were statistically significant(t=20.545,13.457,18.662,8.371,21.686;P<0.05).At 3 d after operation, the level of inflammatory factors in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion ESD for elderly patients with early gastrointestinal cancer can shorten the operation time and postoperative rehabilitation cycle, and reduce inflammation levels and com-plications,so as to improve the quality of life of patients.
