Study on the Spiritual Ecological Crisis of Haruki Murakami's TV People in the Context of Mediatization
Spiritual ecocriticism,as an important part of the ecocriticism theory system, has significant meaning and value in interpreting the spiritual ecology of human beings in literary works.Japanese writer Haruki Murakami's short story TV People describes in detail a series of spiritual difficulties suffered by the protagonist due to the invasion of his home space by TV People, which reflects the writer's deep concern about the tremendous psychological and spiritual impact that television,a new medium, may have on individuals in the 1970s and 1980s.This paper aims to reinterpret TV People from the perspective of spiritual ecocriticism, exploring how human individuals'spiritual ecology first falls into dilemma, gradually slides into internal imbalance, and ultimately plunges into the abyss of collapse, leading to the individual's becoming"the other"under the control of a powerful media. Therefore,in the media age, especially in today's era of rapid development and iteration of the Internet and media, human individuals should get involved in social activities and interpersonal relationships, and align with the spirit of the times,so as to form a harmonious and stable spiritual ecology, gathering strong spiritual forces to promote the balanced development of human society.
