Characteristics of Hydraulic Energy Dissipation under Stepped Overflow Design of Spillway
Based on the special-shaped staggered design of the overflow steps of the outflow tunnel reservoir, the hydraulic characteristics such as flow velocity and pressure of the overflow surface were discussed, and the energy dissipation characteristics of the spillway were analyzed. The research showed that the variation of flow velocity along the path under the irregular staggered step scheme was not affected by the discharge, and the peak and valley flow velocity sections were consistent;the overflow section designed with special-shaped staggered steps was helpful to gathering the high hydrodynamic potential energy in the overflow section. At the same time,in the irregular staggered step scheme, there was a negative pressure characteristic on both sides, and the distribution level of turbulent kinetic energy was also high, with the highest number of irregular steps being 4;in the non irregular staggered step scheme, the pressure level was higher, the amplitude of variation was lower, and the turbulent kinetic energy and energy dissipation rate were lower than those in the irregular staggered step scheme.Considering the current situation of discharge and energy dissipation on the overflow surface,it was more reasonable to design special-shaped staggered steps. This paper can provide a reference for studying the shape design of stepped spillway overflow surface.
