Cause Analysis of Excessive Permanganate Index in Baima Lake
Baima Lake serves as a regional flood control reservoir in Jiangsu Province, which not only bears the role of flood control, but also acts as an ecological system to improve and restore the ecological environment. In view of the problems of high values of permanganate index in Baima Lake recent years, the data of previous years combining the field study are investigated. The reasons resulted in the excessive permanganate index are analyzed from the perspectives of exogenous pollution, endogenous pollution, seasonal influence, microalgae growth, ecosystem degradation(reduced submerged vegetation)and other factors.Meanwhile, restoration strategies for riverfront wetland construction, water environment protection and ecology restoration are proposed to provide technical support for enhancing the ecological serves.
