At present, the flow measuring instruments commonly used in hydrological stations generally include current meter,Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler(ADCP),etc.Since the current meter method can not be monitored online,ADCP is easily affected by sand content and floating objects, and the application in some scenarios has great restrictions. There is an urgent need to supplement new modern monitoring equipment to improve the ease of use,real-time and automation of hydrological equipment,as well as water resource management capabilities. The video-based flow rate identification technology has the characteristics of visualization, good real-time performance and strong adaptability. It can be used as a good supplementary means for flow measurement for unattended hydrological stations to improve the perception ability of water resources management and help hydrological modernization.
