The chemical whitening method of sulfuric acid-sulfur dioxide-sodium citrate(DFS)was employed to enhance the whiteness of salt mud,aiming to meet the requirements for comprehensive utilization in salt making and alkali making industries.The effects of reagent addi-tion,reaction time,and reaction temperature on the whiteness were compared,while investigating the variation trend of color-forming ion Fe3+.Consequently,significant improvement in the white-ness of salt mud was achieved through this simple and easily controllable process.This enhance-ment lays a solid foundation for subsequent applications of salt mud.
