Long-Short NDVI Time Series Method for Detecting Local Mutation Characteristics of Vegetation
In this paper,a long-short NDVI time series method was proposed to detect local mutation char-acteristics of vegetation.Using MODIS data in Hotan area from 2000 to 2020,the NDVI time series of different years in the same grid in the study area were tested for similarity to detect whether the vegetation in the grid was mutated, the local mutation characteristics of vegetation was studied, and the time, location of local ecological mutation of vegetation and the vegetation types before and after the mutation were detected. The results showed that the vegetation coverage in Hotan was improved dramatically in 2006,2013,2016 and 2018,which distribu-ted in plain oases and the intersection of mountains and plains. In addition to reclamation, cultivation and other human activities for profit, most of the abrupt changes in vegetation cover occurred in the southern mountains where climate change was intense. Therefore, the local vegetation degradation in Hotan area was the result of the combined effect of climate change and human activities.
