Comparison and Analysis of Three Standards for Waterproofness Test of Aircraft and Airborne Equipment
Aircraft and their equipment are affected by water to varying degrees, whether in operation or storage. If water seeps into aircraft,it will make impact on the onboard equipment, and even damage the performance of the aircraft, resulting in safety accidents. Therefore,in order to avoid water entering the aircraft and damaging the airborne equipment,it is necessary to test the their waterproofness. There are many standards applicable to waterproofness test of civil aircraft. In this paper, the waterproofness tests of GB/T 4208-2017 Degrees of protection provided by enclosure(IP code)and RTCA DO-160G Section 10 Waterproofness are compared to provide a reference for waterproofness tests of civil aircraf. In addition, the supplementary comparison of GJB 150.8A-2009 Laboratory environmental test methods for military materiel-Part 8:Rain test, which is often used as the main reference standard for aircraft waterproofness test design, provides cutting design basis for some higher requirements of civil aircraft waterproofness test.
