Failure Analysis of Wiper Arm Seat Foaming at the Experiment of Vehicle Enhanced Corrosion Test
This paper studies the galvanic corrosion between aluminum alloy wiper arm and hot-dip galvanized wiper arm.Through SEM test, metallographic test and cyclic corrosion test, the failure of a wiper arm supplier in the vehicle enhanced corrosion test is analyzed. The effects of different aluminum alloy materials on galvanic corrosion properties and the correlation between the vehicle enhanced corrosion test, neutral salt spray test and cyclic corrosion test were studied. The test results show that the correlation between cyclic corrosion test and vehicle enhanced corrosion test is better than that between neutral salt spray test and vehicle enhanced corrosion test. The mechanism is analyzed by SEM analysis. The main reason is that the potential difference inside the alloy is reduced after the material is changed to low-copper aluminum alloy, and the galvanic corrosion effect inside the alloy is significantly improved, which provides guiding significance for future research on galvanic corrosion related content.
