Abstract
In order to explore the differences in three-dimensional green volume and the ecological benefit value provided by different types of urban green spaces, this study focused on the main urban area of Xi'an City.A total of 90 quadrats were surveyed across 15 park green spaces,28 community green spaces, and 26 street green spaces. The three-dimensional green volume and ecological benefits of the major tree species and different urban green space types were analyzed. The results showed that:(1)Among the main tree species, the three-dimensional green volume and ecological benefits produced by Platanus orientalis were the highest.(2)Compared with deciduous trees, evergreen trees contributed significantly less to the total three-dimensional green volume(P<0.05).(3)The three-dimensional green volume per unit area, from largest to smallest, was street green space(31,835.50 m3),park green space(30,351.50 m3),and community green space(24,956.75 m3).(4)CO2 absorption yielded the highest ecological benefit per unit area per year, followed by O2 release, summer transpiration, dust retention, and SO2 absorbed was the lowest.Research indicates that due to the lower area of evergreen species compared to deciduous species in Xi'an City,it may be beneficial to moderately increase the proportion of evergreen trees in the city's greening efforts. In addition, most of the deciduous tree species, such as Platanus orientalis and Styphnolobium japonicum, are tall with broad canopies, which can effectively enhance the three-dimensional green volume and ecological benefits of Xi'an's urban green spaces.
