Guangxi Province is an important mineral base in China,which is facing serious ecological and environmental problems in mining areas.This study uses the carbon-fixing rate method and the market value method to calculate the carbon sequestration amount and economic value of the mining area in Guangxi Province.The study finds that the overall carbon sequestration amount of Guangxi Province is 1.19×108 t·CO2/a,the economic value of carbon sequestration is 6.53×109 RMB,accounting for about 0.264%of Guangxi Province's GDP in 2021.Further analysis of the spatial distribution of the mining area finds that Chongzuo City,Baise City,and Wuzhou City ranked the top three in carbon sequestration and economic value,among which Chongzuo City and Baise City have a contribution of more than one percentage point to GDP from carbon sequestration value.Based on the calculation results,some policy suggestions are proposed at the end of the study:1)To strengthen the organization,leadership and supervision of carbon sequestration work;2)To enhance the ecological restoration of abandoned mines;3)Improve the mechanism and system of carbon trading market.
