Analysis of implied carbon transfer and carbon leakage characteristics of inter-regional trade in China
In order to promote synergistic carbon emission reduction between regions in China, and mitigate the weakening impact of the implied carbon emission transfer and carbon leakage phenomenon in regional trade activities on national carbon emission reduction targets. This study uses a multi-regional input-output model to measure and visualize the total trade implied carbon emissions between regions in China, and analyses the characteristics of trade implied carbon flow paths from the perspective of carbon leakage. The main conclusions are:There are large regional differences in the input and output of trade implied carbon, with net input regions mainly including East China and Southwest China, and net output regions mainly concentrated in North China,Northeast China and Northwest China;Trade implied carbon emissions mainly flow from economically less developed regions with developed secondary industries or energy resource-rich regions to economically developed regions; The flow pattern of inter-regional carbon leakage is consistent with the relatively concentrated flow path of inter-regional trade implied carbon. The flow pattern of inter-regional carbon leakage is basically consistent with the relatively concentrated flow path of inter-regional trade implied carbon.
