Comprehensive evaluation and analysis of ecological geological environment quality of Hainan Island based on AHP
To evaluate the ecological and geological environment vulnerability and suitability of Hainan Island,we analyzed four factors:ecological, geological, geographical, and man-made elements, based on previous studies and the characteristics of the island.Twelve major influencing factors, including wetness index, stratigraphic lithology, landform, land use,and population density type, were selected from four aspects:ecological factors, geological factors, geographical factors, and anthropogenic factors, and a comprehensive evaluation model of ecological geological environment quality in Hainan Island was constructed. The weight of each element was calculated using the analytic hierarchy process, and ArcGIS was used to superimpose the calculations to obtain the results.Based on the natural discontinuity grading method,we divided the results into four evaluation partitions:excellent, good, medium, and poor. The study revealed that the overall ecological and geological environment quality of Hainan Island is good. Each evaluation zone showed a certain spatial correlation on a regional scale. The areas with excellent ecological and geological environmental quality account for 15%,the areas with good quality account for 59%,the areas with medium quality account for 22%,and the areas with poor quality account for 4%.This comprehensive evaluation can help in understanding the ecological and geological environment quality of Hainan Island and enable us to formulate economic development models and environmental protection measures suitable for the environmental carrying capacity of each zone. This study can provide a reference for land and space management as well as ecological environment protection on Hainan Island.
