Analysis on the distribution change and risk analysis of Cyperus malaccensis in Qinjiang River estuary
Cyperus malaccens is a characteristic representative species of salt marsh in southern China,it has important ecological values such as protecting beaches and coasts, reducing pollution. In order to protect the Qinjiang River estuary wetland in Guangxi Province under the background of sea level rise, this study adopt the method of combining satellite remote sensing,UAV image and on-site investigation to identify the distribution and influence mechanism of C.malaccens in Qinjiang River estuary wetland. We also analyzed the future risks of C.malaccens based on information such as sedimentation rate, runoff input, and sea level rise. The results showed that, from 2011 to 2022,the total area of C.malaccens in study area increased from 0.28 km2 to 0.36 km2,and showing a tendency to expand to the sea.In the future, with the decrease of runoff and suspended solids concentration in the Qinjiang River, and the rise of sea level,C.malaccens and the estuary wetland will face risk. Some suggestions are put forward, including regular monitoring of sea level, beach surface elevation and distribution area of C.malaccens, and provide a buffer space for C.malaccens and the estuary wetland to cope with the future sea level rise through ecological projects, such as returning aquaculture pond to beach and shoreline restoration.
