Coral ecological diversity survey of Wanshan Islands in the the Pearl River Estuary
The significance of coral to humans is not just a tourist attraction.In fact,they play an important role in maintaining global biodiversity,maintaining fishery resources,protecting coastlines,and optimizing the atmospheric environment.However,the current surveys of coral ecological diversity in Zhuhai are scattered,and the survey data is relatively old,which cannot fully reflect the current situation.Through the investigation and research on the structure and distribution of reef coral community in Wanshan Islands,the Pearl River Estuary,in 2020 and 2021,69 species of reef coral belonging to 25 genera,13 families,were recorded and identified in Wanshan Sea Area,which is higher than the historical literature data.By comparing the investigation results of reef coral community in the Pearl River Estuary in 2012 and 2020,the status of biodiversity of reef coral community in Wanshan Islands,the Pearl River Estuary was mastered.At the same time,the survival threats faced by the reef coral community in the Wanshan Islands of the the Pearl River Estuary and the urgent need to strengthen protection were discussed,and suggestions for the protection and management of the reef coral community in the Wanshan Islands of the the Pearl River Estuary were put forward.
