Biodiversity is fundamental to human well-being and a healthy planet,and economic prosperity for all people.As a special component of biodiversity,urban biodiversity is facing the severe challenge of loss due to urbanization and other factors.Urban biodiversity assessment is the basis of conservation work.However,scientific,systematic and comprehensive assessment of urban biodiversity has not been carried out yet.Therefore,this study summarizes the research progress of urban biodiversity assessment from three aspects:current situation assessment,impact analysis and scenario analysis,expounds the evaluation methods and evaluation results of each part,and analyzes the particularity and concerns of urban biodiversity assessment.In the future,we should accelerate the construction of a scientific,systematic,perfect and standardized urban biodiversity assessment framework,and actively carry out urban biodiversity assessment research.To carry out long-term observation of urban biodiversity to provide data support for various assessments.The application of urban biodiversity assessment results should be strengthened to provide scientific and technological support for biodiversity conservation and management.
