Overview of vegetation monitoring using aerial platforms remote sensing
Aerial platforms remote sensing(high tower platforms or high buildings equipped with a variety of monitoring instruments)has the advantages of high spatial and temporal resolution and is not affected by weather conditions,it can be used as a"bridge"connecting ground observation network and satellite remote sensing image to solve the problem of time and space mismatch between them. This study discussed the feasibility and advantages of aerial platforms remote sensing in vegetation monitoring, the examples of tower-based remote sensing monitoring are given based on the data of Tongliao observation station, the feasibility of aerial platforms remote sensing in vegetation monitoring was explained, and the direction and challenge of existing aerial platforms remote sensing were analyzed.Aerial platforms remote sensing has advantages in fine-grained dynamic monitoring and rapid detection of vegetation anomalies in small-range.However,due to its limited observation distance in a fixed station, the site selection needs to consider comprehensively according to the observation targets and research areas.However,Multi-platform data can be combined with each other, and aerial platforms remote sensing high spatial-temporal resolution combined with large-area monitoring of satellites can complement each other's advantages, and effectively make up for the shortcomings of current satellite monitoring such as insufficient timeliness and insufficient precision.
