Analysis of the characteristics of zooplankton communities in the autumn season in the Fenshui River Basin
In order to understand the distribution characteristics of zooplankton in the Fenshui River Basin during autumn,35 sampling points were set up in the basin in October 2021.These sampling points were located in the upper reaches of the Fenshui River, the main stream of the Fenshui River, and its tributaries.A survey of plankton communities was conducted in the Fenshui River Basin, and water quality was assessed using biodiversity indices. The results showed that a total of 74 species from 4 classes of zooplankton were detected in the Fenshui River Basin, including 24 species of protozoa. The most abundant group was rotifers with 28 species, followed by cladocerans with 8 species and copepods with 14 species. The density of zooplankton in the Fenshui River Basin ranged from 3.00 to 492.50 ind./L,and the biomass ranged from0.000 1 to40.626 0 mg/L.Cluster analysis based on zooplankton density revealed that the sampling points in the Fenshui River Basin could be divided into 3 major groups.Based on the results of biodiversity indices, the water quality in the Fenshui River Basin was evaluated to be lightly to moderately polluted. There were significant differences in zooplankton characteristics in the Fenshui Reservoir, indicating the need for further monitoring and management.
